Excursions for the older pupils continue to consolidate classroom learning and to link with current areas of study.

Year 4 and Year 5 especially look forward to their PGL residential trip for a week in the summer term where they can try their hand at a number of new exciting activities such as the zip wire, abseiling, mountain biking, and Quad Biking. The trip also includes visits to some local attractions making it one of the highlights of our children's time in this part of Abercorn.

Year 6 pupils enhance their studies of Shakespeare with a visit to Stratford upon Avon, and enjoy a residential trip to France. Similarly, Years 7 and 8 explore influences of gravitational forces in Physics at the Royal Observatory, where they experience displays of solar and lunar eclipses. Their time at Abercorn culminates in an exchange programme with BIS-NY, our sister school in New York.

These trips provide memories and experiences outside of the classroom and which last way beyond the school years.

The quality of pupils’ personal development is outstanding.
