At Abercorn our aims are to encourage children to develop an understanding of the past and its relevance to the present, and its impact on the world today.

Our classes are designed to promote curiosity and questioning in order to develop children’s investigative skills to develop their own theories and hypotheses. The study of history also plays a critical role in fostering relevant cross-curricular links with other subjects, to take history out of the classroom and bring the subject and their learning to life.

Trips are a vital part of discovering the subject of History and all year groups make the most of the huge variety of opportunities available in and around London. Trips include the The Great Fire of London Walk, the Florence Nightingale Musuem at St Thomas' Hospital, and a Mad Mosaics Roman Workshop.
